New Weekend Route 395
September 10, 2012
ANTIOCH, CA, September 10, 2012 – The Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority (Tri Delta Transit) is launching a new weekend route serving Slatten Ranch, The Streets of Brentwood and Sand Creek Shopping Center in Brentwood. The new route will be Weekend Route 395 and begins service on Saturday, October 6, 2012 and is part of a newly revised schedule, which goes into effect Monday, October 1, 2012.
Route 395 will provide new travel options for local residents as well as weekend access to highly desired shopping and entertainment centers in both Southeast Antioch and Brentwood. “A great deal of planning and community input went into the development of the new route,” said Director of Marketing, Mike Furnary. “Customers have been requesting weekend service to Slatten Ranch and the Streets of Brentwood for a while. Through careful planning and efficiency improvements to existing routes, we are now able to offer this service.”
Route 395 will be easily accessible by all of Tri Delta Transit’s existing weekend routes at the Antioch Park & Ride. For those living in the area surrounding the Streets of Brentwood or Lone Tree Way near Empire Avenue, Route 395 will also provide fast, convenient service to the Antioch Park & Ride where connections can be made to all of Eastern Contra Costa County. In addition to the new weekend route, Tri Delta Transit will be combining two existing routes—Route 384 & Route 385—into one newly revised Route 385. The revised Route 385 will continue to serve key locations served by Route 384. This includes Heritage High School, Adams Middle School, Bristow Middle School, John Muir Medical Center, The Streets of Brentwood, and the Brentwood Park & Ride. “By efficiently combining these two routes into one, we are able to maintain service to key locations while providing greater access to more of our community.” Route 385 will now serve several neighborhoods along Balfour Road.
The new routes are being introduced along with a newly revised schedule going into effect on Monday, October 1, 2012. The new schedule includes time changes to most existing Tri Delta Transit routes as well as redesigned routes on select runs. New printed schedules will be available on buses the week of September 24.
