Service Worker

JOB SUMMARY

To wash, detail, and fuel Tri Delta Transit vehicles in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, a Service Worker will perform the following duties:

  • Fuel buses, check all fluids, clean bus exteriors and interiors, empty vaults
  • Properly complete and submit all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follow all Tri Delta Transit policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must:

  • have no more than two moving violations and or accidents on their driving record within the past three years
  • possess a valid Class C, California Driver’s license
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent

FILING

Service Worker Package

Mechanic

To maintain Tri Delta Transit vehicles in an efficient, timely and safe manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. ASE Transit, Truck or School Bus Certifications preferred.

Experience

A minimum of one year of recent and verifiable experience as an automotive mechanic or a heavy-duty mechanic. Experience working with zero-emission buses is preferred.

Pre-Employment Testing

Final candidates will be required to pass a Federal Transit Administration pre-employment drug screen and Department of Transportation physical.

Tools

Possession of necessary tools to perform above duties, including approved steel-toed safety shoes to be worn on the job.

License

Must have or be able obtain a Class B license with a “P’ endorsement. On-the-job DMV training will be provided.Applicants will not be considered if they have more than two moving violations and/or accidents on their driving record within the past three years.

Director of Maintenance

EASTERN CONTRA COSTA TRANSIT AUTHORITY (Tri Delta Transit) is accepting applications for a Director of Maintenance. Salary range: $121,664 to $219,374 depending on qualifications.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree desired. Experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Trade school, college mechanical courses, or equivalent desired.

Experience

Five years of hands-on mechanical experience on heavy-duty vehicles plus three years of mechanical supervisory experience. Experience working with vendors and experience purchasing mechanical parts, fuel, etc. desired. Transit experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize work and manage, without direction.
  • Commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Flexible attitude that can accommodate a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of basic mechanics, as well as the processes related to major overhauls.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Familiarity with Excel and Word.
  • Competent mathematical skills are very important.
  • Strong management skills with a history of being able to train, manage, and motivate employees.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with the maintenance department.

Manager of Planning and Grants

EASTERN CONTRA COSTA TRANSIT AUTHORITY (Tri Delta Transit) is accepting applications for a Manager of Planning and Grants. Salary range: $112,440 to $202,951 depending on qualifications.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, business, urban studies, economics, public administration, or a related field. Master’s degree in the same fields is strongly preferred.

Experience

Five years of prior experience in planning and/or public transportation fields and two years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge and Abilities

An in-depth knowledge of principles, practices and trends of public administration and intergovernmental relations, as well as transportation funding, policies, planning and reporting requirements in the transit industry. Ability to analyze and interpret complex transit planning issues and ensure accurate presentation of information to external and internal stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, as well as the ability to present in public. Ability to prioritize work and manage without direction. Committed to accuracy and taking initiative. Strong organizational skills and a flexible attitude to accommodate a dynamic environment. Able to objectively select, supervise, train, motivate and evaluate the department's team.

Transdev contracts with Tri Delta Transit to hire, train, and employ bus operators. Transdev’s training program consists of classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
